Proposal outlining measures to curb road crashes to be presented to PM Andrew Holness

Vice chairman of the National Road Safety Council, Dr. Lucien Jones, says a proposal outlining measures to curb road crashes will be presented to Prime Minister Andrew Holness during a meeting slated for next month. Mr. Holness is the chairman of the council.

Dr. Jones, says the meeting is important, as road crashes remain a major issue.

He notes that two people were killed in road crashes yesterday, pushing the death toll so far this year, to 132.

This is an increase over the 131 road deaths recorded in the corresponding period, last year.

He expressed hope that the proposal presented will help save lives.

Dr. Jones is urging persons to adhere to road safety rules and regulations.
