Probation officers and government to meet next week over wage negotiations
Probation officers are expected to meet with the government next week to continue wage negotiations.
This, after the officers staged a two-day sit-in over the slow pace of the negotiations under the public sector compensation restructuring exercise.
President of the Probation Aftercare Officers’ Staff Association, Kerryann Davis, has indicated that representatives from the finance ministry made contact with the relevant unions and the long awaited talks will happen next week.
During the sit in earlier this week, the disgruntled workers expressed concern about being placed in the wrong salary band.
Mrs Davis is optimistic that the renewed discussions will address these issues.
