Police following several lines of inquiry into abduction and murder of 8 year old girl

Several lines of inquiry are being followed by police from both the St. Andrew central and St. Catherine south divisions, into the killing of the daughter of a serving policeman.

The 8 year old girl, later identified as Danielle Rowe, had been abducted from the Braeton primary school in Portmore, St. Catherine, on Thursday.

She was later found, with her throat slashed, by a passing motorist, along Roosevelt Avenue, in St. Andrew.

The child was taken to the Bustamante Hospital for Children, where she underwent emergency surgery.

She succumbed to her injuries, this morning.

In a statement, the Jamaica Constabulary Force said the heinous crime has shocked the nation, adding that, the condolences of the entire JCF go out to Danielle’s family, friends, and school community, during this incredibly difficult time.

Danielle was the daughter of a Corporal, who is assigned to the St. Catherine south division.

It’s reported that Danielle’s parents are not coping with the loss.

The JCF’s chaplaincy unit, and wider membership, are providing support to Danielle’s family.

Members of the public are being urged to help bring the perpetrator of this horrendous act to justice.

Anyone with information that will assist in solving this case is being asked to contact the police.

The JCF said the contribution could be pivotal, in helping investigators solve the case, and bring closure to the grieving family.
