Police and Integrity Commission sign MOU to tackle corruption and organized crime

The police and the Integrity Commission have joined forces in a bid to strengthen their capabilities in tackling corruption and organised crime.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on Wednesday between police commissioner major general Antony Anderson, and Executive Director Greg Christie.

Commissioner Anderson noted that the partnership with the Integrity Commission is welcomed, as the police cannot fight corruption alone.

Meantime, Christie noted that the MOU with the police, is the third such agreement signed by the integrity commission with law enforcement entities, the other 2 being with the Financial Investigation Division, and Major Organised Crime and Anti Corruption Agency, MOCA.

He noted that organised crime, poses a serous threat to the integrity of institutions, and undermines public confidence.
