The Black River Criminal Investigation Branch is probing the death of a male farmer who perished in a house fire in St Elizabeth early this morning (July 8).

Dead is 49-year-old Everett Medley of Barton Isle Road, Santa Cruz in the parish.

The incident occurred at about 1: 30 am.

Head of the Constabulary’s Communication Unit, Senior Superintendent, Stephanie Lindsay said a joint operation between the police and the Jamaica Fire Brigade is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
