PM Holness says government will not be selling Bob Marley Beach

Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government will not be selling Bob Marley Beach in St Andrew.

He says the government’s policy is not to sell beach land or beach front.

The comment from the prime minister, follows concerns over how the construction of a hotel in the area which borders St Thomas, will impact residents who have been living and carrying out business at the location.

Advocates have also raised concern about the loss of public access to the beach, if the development takes place.

Mr Holness who was in St Thomas on Wednesday, commented on the issue.

The prime minister said he was assuring the public, that the beach is not for sale.

Mr Holness said the only way out of poverty is for development to take place.
