PM Holness expresses deep concern about the country’s human resources saying it is his greatest worry

Prime Minister Andrew Holness said his greatest worry is that the education system is not producing enough of the human resources needed by the country to support development.

According to the Prime Minister, as the economy grows it is growing past the labour force of the country.

He said this is why the Government implemented the Education Transformation Task Force to find solutions to this problem.

He pointed out that the Government has received the report from the task force and is ready to move forward.

He said the recent announcement that the World Bank will build the first Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) school in Jamaica is another step towards producing the human resources the country needs.

He said the Government will also be building a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) institution.
