Prime Minister Andrew Holness has admitted, that the migration of the nation’s teachers is a potential threat to the education sector, but says he is satisfied with the measures being put in place by the ministry, to address the issue.

Speaking at the PEP 2022 awards on Tuesday, Mr. Holness noted, that it can be a lucrative opportunity for teachers, who choose to leave the country for employment elsewhere.

He said many markets target Jamaica because of the country’s well developed teacher training system.

He noted that the use of online and digital strategies can be employed, to address the issue where possible.
