PM announces 3 appointments to key positions in the government

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced three appointments to key positions in the government, effective tomorrow August 1.

The new appointees are Audrey Sewell as the Cabinet Secretary, Ambassador Rocky Meade as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, and Arlene Williams as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.

The appointees have been charged with improving service delivery and efficiency in government.

This with a view to ensure the significant gains made by the administration are felt by Jamaicans from all walks of life.

In a statement today, the OPM said Ms. Sewell, who serves as the Permanent Secretary in both the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, brings a wealth of experience and exceptional qualifications to her new role as Cabinet Secretary.

According to the OPM, as for the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation- Mrs. Williams, she has a wealth of experience in various government ministries and departments.

It said she has been instrumental in spearheading major capital projects and overseeing significant spends in the Ministry of National Security.

The OPM noted that Ambassador Meade in addition to his role as Permanent Secretary, in the OPM will retain the post of Ambassador Plenipotentiary with responsibility for national strategic initiatives.
