People’s National Party says recent poll indicates growing trust and satisfaction among Jamaicans with Mark Golding’s leadership

The People’s National Party (PNP) says a recent poll has indicated growing trust and satisfaction among Jamaicans with Mark Golding’s leadership.

The results of the poll conducted by Market Research Services Limited led by Don Anderson were outlined in a press release yesterday.

According to the survey, Mr. Golding’s net favourability of +19 per cent was calculated as the percentage of respondents who view him favourably, minus those who view him unfavourably.

The PNP said this score significantly outstrips Prime Minister Holness’s +9 per cent, indicating a broader and stronger public approval for Mr. Golding and reflecting increased confidence in his leadership.

The PNP added that Mr. Golding’s negative ratings decreased dramatically from 47.3 per cent in 2023 to 25.3 per cent in 2024.

According to the Party, its leader has seen his combined scores for ‘good,’ ‘very good,’ and ‘average’ surge from 52.7 per cent in 2023 to 74.6 per cent in 2024.

Mr. Holness’ cumulative scores have reportedly been left largely unchanged, moving slightly from 66.2 per cent in 2023 to 66 per cent in 2024.

The PNP said this highlighted a significant shift in public opinion, favouring Opposition Leader Mark Golding over Mr. Holness.

The survey was conducted from April 4 to 12, with a sample size of 1,057 respondents and a margin of error of plus or minus 3 per cent.
