Approximately one-thousand one-hundred-and-five athletes have been registered to compete in the Sagicor/Jamaica Teachers Association National Athletics Championship, set to be staged at the national stadium this Friday and Saturday. 

The competition which is entering its 39th staging is geared for students aged 15 and under representing all 14 parishes.

Events on the programme includes the 100, 150, 200, 400 and 800 metre events as well as the the sprint relays for under 9, under 11, under 13 and 15 and under boys and girls. 

Action gets underway at 10 am on Friday with the heats of the girls 1200 metres.

Former Edwin Allen standouts tia and Tina Clayton are the meet ambassadors. 

St Elizabeth are the defending champions.
