Opposition says while glitches in new public sector compensation system expected, solution must be in place to reduce impacts on workers

Opposition Spokesperson on Finance, Julian Robinson, says while it is expected that there will be glitches in the new public-sector compensation system, a solution must be in place to reduce the impacts on workers.

The new system came into effect this week, but several public-sector groups have complained that their December salaries are late.

Mr. Robinson told IRIE FM news, that while it is normal for challenges to occur at the start of the system’s implementation, measures must be taken to ensure that the issues are not prolonged.

He pointed to the many public-sector workers who might be impacted during the Christmas season.
