Opposition raises more questions about multi-million dollar fraud at SSL; says matter might warrant Commission of Inquiry

The Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) has raised more questions about the multi-million dollar fraud at Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL).

Several investors including renowned Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt have been impacted.

Speaking at the PNP’s Post-National Executive Council Press Conference in Runaway Bay, St Ann yesterday (January 22), Opposition Leader, Mark Golding questioned why SSL was allowed to continue operating, despite being flagged by the Financial Services Commission for suspected breaches.

He said the Government should be transparent on the matter.

Mr Golding added that the matter might warrant a Commission of Inquiry.
