Opposition Leader says it is scandalous that audit reports sent to Parliament from the Auditor General were returned to her office without being tabled

Opposition Leader Mark Golding has described as scandalous, news that two audit reports sent to Parliament from the Auditor General’s Department were returned to that office without being tabled.

The news comes after Jamaica Labour Party General Secretary Dr. Horace Chang insisted that there were no outstanding reports from either the Integrity Commission or the Auditor General awaiting tabling in Parliament.

Speaking at a post-NEC press conference in Clarendon yesterday, Mr Golding accused the Government of trying to withhold information from the public.

According to the Opposition Leader, the schemes being used by the Government to avoid tabling the reports should not be tolerated.
