Opposition calls for probe into relationship between NHT and contracted companies which have reportedly failed to deliver houses

The Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) is calling for a probe into the relationship between the National Housing Trust (NHT) and companies with which it has reportedly signed contracts for housing construction, but none has been delivered.

Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Julian Robinson made the call during the party’s presentation of candidates for the local government election in Manchester, last night.

Mr. Robinson said there is at least one company which has not delivered houses to the trust, despite contracts being signed for the housing projects.

He wants the Integrity Commission to launch an investigation into the matter.

Meantime, Opposition Leader Mark Golding has criticized the government’s management of the NHT.
