Opposition calls for more immigration workers at Sangster International Airport amidst lengthy delays for arriving passengers

Opposition Spokesperson on Tourism, Senator Janice Allen is calling for more customs and immigration workers at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James.

In a statement today (March 31), Senator Allen posited that the visitor experience at the airport is being negatively impacted by extremely long lines in the immigration and customs halls.

She said in recent weeks, the situation, particularly in the immigration hall, has severely worsened and many visitors have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction and alarm.

She said Jamaica’s tourism product and its future booking prospects will be seriously impacted unless the issues are urgently addressed by the key stakeholders, including the Ministries of Finance and the Public Service, National Security and Tourism, as well as the airport operators.
