Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang says issues affecting the National Surveillance System, JamaicaEye are to be addressed soon.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the $200 million Lacovia Police Station in St Elizabeth, yesterday (June 23), Dr Chang said a contract has been signed for the connection of cameras in Santa Cruz to the JamaicaEye system.
This follows appeals by stakeholders earlier this week, for the cameras to be connected to the surveillance system to assist the police in the town where there have been recent armed robberies.
Dr Chang said he is aware that cameras in other towns are in need of repair.
He said JamaicaEye is important to the technological support of the police.
