Murders down 38.9%
There is a 38.9 per cent reduction in murders.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), 248 murders were recorded up to Saturday, May 10, 158 fewer than the 406 recorded in the same period last year.
The St. Andrew South division had the highest number of murders with 34, followed by St. Catherine South with 23.
St. Elizabeth, Hanover, and Trelawny saw the lowest number of murders with 5 each.
The JCF is also reporting that cases of rape declined by 78 and robberies by 17.
Meanwhile, break-ins increased by 61.
