Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), Audley Gordon, says the acquisition of 50 remaining garbage trucks by government, is now at the procurement stage.

Fifty of the 100 trucks were already delivered, earlier this year.

Speaking yesterday (November 29) at a meeting of parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC), Mr. Gordon noted that the recently received trucks have greatly assisted in waste collection.

He noted however that the NSWMA’s fleet is still limited, and that waste collection can be further improved.
