Former Commonwealth Games Federation President Dr. The Honorable Mike Fennell will continue as chairman of the newly appointed board of directors at Independence Park Limited….which operates, promotes and manages sports facilities including the National Stadium Complex and Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium.

The new board which was announced earlier today by Minister of Sports Olivia Grange consists of 13 members and will serve for a period of two years with effect from January 16.

Fennell who also previously held the post of President of the Jamaica Olympic Association will be assisted by David Shirley….the Managing Director at the Jamaica Coffee Corporation who continues in the role of Deputy Chairman.

Completing the board of Directors are major Desmon Brown, Ed Barnes, Ann-Marie Heron,  Dr. Peter Charles, Stefani Dewar, Lenford Salmon, Carlton Dennis, Audrey Chin,  Shaneek Clacken and Assistant Commissioner of Police Terrence Bent with Lieutenant Colonel Eldon Morgan the lone new member.

The new board was constituted in keeping with the national policy for gender equality to ensure that the minimum of 30% of either sex makes up the composition of government boards.
