Memorial Service for Peetah Morgan set for March 7

Family, friends, and fans will bid their final farewell to the late Peetah Morgan, lead singer of the world renowned Morgan Heritage Reggae Band, on March 7, in Orlando, Florida.

The Grammy-winning Reggae band made the announcement about the memorial service via its verified Instagram account this morning (March 1).

“In this life, live for the cause and your name will live forever. So do Jah works and be remembered. These are the words of the great Peter ‘Peetah’ Anthony Morgan. Join us on March 7th in Orlando Florida, as we join hearts and hands in his remembrance”, they wrote as a caption which also included the hashtags Heritage4Life and MorganHeritage.

Though a specific location in Orlando, Florida is yet to be confirmed, the family has announced that the final farewell for Peetah Morgan will be streamed live, and include a public viewing and lantern lighting.

Peetah Morgan died at the age of 50 on February 25. IRIE FM sources say he was diabetic and suffered two strokes which subsequently led to his death.

He is survived by his wife Maria Gunabe–Morgan, 11 children, 2 Grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews.

On Thursday (Feb 29), Gramps Morgan shared a heartfelt tribute via his verified Instagram account, calling his little brother the greatest and his best friend, while highlighting his work ethics, his ability to ignore the noise, and his love for the music.
