Man pleads guilty to 2021 murder of 51-year-old banker at church in Falmouth

The man who shot and killed a 51-year-old banker at a church in Falmouth, Trelawny two years ago, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Chief Justice Bryan Sykes in the Trelawny Circuit Court, today.

 

Andrea Lowe Garwood was murdered at the Agape Christian Fellowship Church on Sunday January 31, 2021.

 

The accused triggerman Dwight Bingham, reportedly sat behind Mrs. Garwood for some time before shooting her four times.

 

His mobile phone fell as he fled the scene and escaped in a waiting motor car.

 

Bingham, who will be sentenced on July 25 is the second person to plead guilty in the case.

 

The driver of the getaway car, Lester Hinds previously pleaded guilty to illegal possession of firearm and is serving a six-year prison sentence.

 

Meantime, Mrs. Garwood’s stepson and the alleged mastermind behind the attack, 32-year-old Javan Garwood who is facing charges of murder and accessory before the fact, pleaded not guilty when his trial got under way in the Circuit Court, today.
