Luther Buchanan resigns as chairman of PNP’s Eastern Westmoreland Constituency executive
Luther Buchanan has resigned, as chairman of the People’s National Party’s Eastern Westmoreland constituency executive, effective Wednesday.
In a letter to the PNP President, Mr Buchanan indicated that having served as councillor, member of parliament and deputy general secretary, he remains a faithful member of the People’s National Party.
In confirming the resignation, PNP region 6 chairman Colin Hitchman, said Buchanan’s letter was submitted to the PNP‘s General Secretary on Tuesday.
He said the party’s constituency executive will discuss the issue and decide on which vice chairman would act temporarily, until the next regional meeting.
He said its hoped that the meeting can be held sometime after the PNP‘s annual conference.
Mr Hitchman said he is unaware of any conflict involving Mr Buchanan and that no reason has been given for the resignation.
