Long Pond Distillery in Trelawny, which was destroyed by fire in 2018, has been re-opened for business

The Long Pond Distillery in Trelawny, which was destroyed by fire in 2018, has been re-opened for business.

The distillery is a historic landmark in the parish and has produced rums for some of the world’s most renowned brands, for over two centuries.

Speaking at the reopening ceremony yesterday (June 17), Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the distillery will run more efficiently and will provide employment opportunities for many persons, especially Trelawny residents.

He added that the restoration of the Long Pond Distillery is an example that regardless of the issues being faced in society, Jamaica remains the choice for investors.
