Local Govt Min allocates $50m to drought mitigation
The Local Government ministry has allocated $50m to address the impacts of the meteorological drought facing the country.
Portfolio minister Desmond McKenzie explained that this is an addition to the $100m recently announced by Prime Minister Andrew Holness for the drought mitigation efforts.
Mr. McKenzie said the funds will help to provide resources for this month, with further resources to come in April, if required.
Mr. McKenzie noted that efforts will continue to provide water to affected communities.
