After two days of a magisterial recount, the Westmoreland parish court has declared Dawnette Foster of the Jamaica Labour Party, JLP the winner of the Cornwall Mountain Division.

Ms. Foster received 1, 559 votes, while the People’s National Party’s Abigail Malcolm received 1, 542 votes.

Ms. Foster won the division by 17 votes and is expected to be sworn in next Thursday during the general monthly meeting of the Westmoreland Municipal Corporation.

Ms. Foster’s attorney-at-law, Charles Sinclair said he was confident that his client would come out as the victor.
