Jhaniele Fowler-Nemhard wins Player of The Week award

Sunshine Girls captain Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard has been named Player of The Week for week two in the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia.

It comes after her superb performance at the goal-shooter position where she compiled a tournament best 63 goals from 65 attempts, including 3/3 super shots and 5 rebounds to lead former champions West Coast Fever to an embarrassingly one-sided 81-56 thrashing of Sunshine Coast Lightning at RAC Arena in Perth.

With her latest outing, Fowler-Nembhard maintains her early season dominance in three statistical categories – scoring (133 goals), offensive rebounds (11) and Nissan Net Points (283).

Her winning the Player of The Week award for Week two follows in the footsteps of Sunshine Girls star defender Shamera Sterling-Humphrey of the Adelaide Thunderbirds who won it in Week one.

The five-time league MVP returns to action in round 3 on Saturday, April 27 alongside Jamaican compatriots Shanice Beckford and Kadie-Ann Dehaney for the undefeated league-leading Fever who are on the road against a Melbourne Mavericks team that features Sunshine Girls shooter Shimona Nelson-Jok.
