JFJ disappointed with government’s decision to re-impose States of Emergency

Human rights lobby group, Jamaicans For Justice, JFJ, has expressed disappointment in the government for it’s decision to re-impose the states of emergency in several parishes, and adding st. Ann to the list.

This morning, Prime Minis ter Andrew Holness, announced SOEs for St. Ann, Clarendon, St. Catherine, areas of Kingston and St. Andrew, St. James, Westmoreland and Hanover.

Responding to the announcement, JFJ’s Executive Director , Mickel Jackson said the group is disappointed, because the government is not focusing on sustainable intelligence based policing.

She said the government should provide proof of its claim of success of this measure.
