JET wants NEPA to provide more information on Rio Cobre fish kill

The Jamaica Environment Trust, JET wants the National Environment and Planning Agency, (NEPA) to provide more information on preliminary investigative works it conducted following reports of a fish kill at the Rio Cobre in St. Catherine on Friday.

Yesterday, NEPA reported that it is investigating a pollution incident in the river, in the vicinity of Jericho.

It said the spill resulted in a minor fish kill and that all efforts are being made to contain the spill. 

However, Chief Executive Officer of JET, Dr. Theresa Rodriquez Moodie wants NEPA to explain the work done at the site of the fish kill, yesterday.
