JCSA at point in negotiations with gov’t on public sector compensation review, where it’s ready to sign
The Jamaica Civil Service Association, JCSA, has indicated that it has reached a point in the negotiations with the government, regarding the public sector compensation review, where its ready to sign.
However, the JCSA is awaiting further deliberations by the umbrella group,— the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, before taking any further steps.
JCSA President Oneil Grant said many of the issues pointed out to the government have been resolved, with the parties coming to some agreement, while others are still being discussed.
Among the issues agreed to is a guaranteed minimum increase in the net pay, effective April 1, 2022.
Mr. Grant pointed out that actual payment of the increase is dependent on the Finance Ministry stating when it will be implemented.
He expressed hope that payment can begin by next January, with retroactive monies back to April 2022.
