JCAN Student Athletes prepare to rock Philly at 128th Penn Relays

Over 580 Jamaican student-athletes, coaches, and management personnel are currently assembled in Philadelphia ahead of tomorrow’s opening day of the 128th Penn Relays carnival at the Franklin Field Stadium.

They are representing a record 47 high schools and colleges that will go up against dozens more of their American counterparts as well as the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa.

The three-day carnival will be reverting to girls competing first with the boys to close the show on Saturday’s final day.

Meanwhile, the Jamaican student-athletes are settling in quite well under the diaspora labour of love movement Team Jamaica Bickle who on an annual basis assist in providing meals, transportation, and discounted accommodation rates.

Vice Chair of Team Jamaica Bickle Karen Wilson-Robinson spoke with Irie Fm Sports.
