Jamaicans urged to take hurricane watch seriously and be prepared
Prime Minister Andrew Holness is urging Jamaicans to be prepared for Hurricane Beryl.
This hurricane which he described as an unusual one is expected to reach Jamaica’s coast by Wednesday.
Speaking during a press conference this afternoon, Mr. Holness said the southern end of island is expected to be impacted the most.
He said Beryl could reach Jamaica as a Category 2 hurricane.
He said persons should secure themselves by moving to higher ground as well as taking other precautionary measures.
Mr. Holness is urging Jamaicans to stock up on drinking water and non-perishable food items.
