Jamaicans now in Antigua for Cricket West Indies rising stars under 15 championship

The Jamaican delegation headed by coach Phillip Service are now in Antigua, ahead of the start of the Cricket West Indies  rising stars under 15 championship which starts tomorrow. 

The championship, which features defending champions Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, the leeward island and the Winward Island,  will run from April 4 to Wednesday April 12.

The six regional teams will each play five rounds of 50-over matches at three venues, the sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Coolidge cricket ground, as well as the Liberta sports club.

 The Jamaicans with rising bowler Geovanni Grey will open their account tomorrow against defending champions Barbados at Liberta Cricket ground.

In other opening round games,  home team Leeward Islands take on the windward islands at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, while Trinidad & Tobago meets Guyana at Coolidge Cricket ground

All matches start at 8:30 am Jamaica time.

In the meantime, the rising stars under 15 championship will signal the first age-group regional tournament for junior male cricketers this year.

Later in the summer cricket west indies will stage the West Indies rising stars under 17′ championship in Trinidad which will feature 50 over matches and the West Indies rising stars under 19 championship in st Vincent which will feature three-day matches as well as 50 over games.
