A Jamaican teacher in Kuwait is anxiously awaiting her flight to the island tomorrow amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The educator, who requested not to be named, has been in the Middle Eastern country teaching since September last year.

She said Kuwait is known as the most peaceful and safest country in that region but tensions between neighbouring nations resulted in the closure of the airspace.

She said, apart from that incident, things in Kuwait have been normal.

However, she is hoping to leave the country before anything major happens.
