This morning’s sitting of the Senate commenced with a sympathy message to the people of the Dominican Republic after at least 220 people died when the roof of a nightclub collapsed.

The incident happened on Tuesday at the Jet Set Club.

Deputy President of the Senate, Charles Sinclair read the message on behalf of President Tom Tavares Finson.

He called on the people of the Dominican Republic to lean on the support of the regional and global communities.
