Jamaica Scorpions squad named- Minus Rovman Powell and Brandon King

The Jamaica Cricket Association today unveiled the 13-man squad for the Jamaica Scorpions, set to compete in the upcoming West Indies Championship, but there were no places for batsmen Rovman Powell and Brandon King. 

The selectors also overlooked the pair of Andre Mcarty and Fabian Allen.

The squad which will likely be led by Jermaine Blackwood, features Kirk Mckenzie who is back from test duties in Australia, along with Nkrumah bonner, Derval Green, Abhijai Mansingh, Peat Salmon, Jeavor royal, Marquino Mindley, Gordon Bryan,  Carlos Brown, Chadwick Walton, Ramaal Lewis and Wicket-keeper/batsman Romaine Morris.

The 2024 West Indies Championship, the Caribbean’s Premier four-day competition, is set to begin in February. 

The opening three rounds of the competition, taking place from 7 to 24 February, will feature matches in two host countries….. St. Kitts and Nevis at two venues and in Jamaica at three venues…..

The Scorpions will start their championship campaign with a high-stakes match against the Windward Island Volcanoes at the legendary Sabina Park from February 7th to 10th.
