Irie FM’S Myesha Broadie nominated for Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence

Irie FM News Journalist Myesha Broadie is among several young people nominated for the 2023 Prime Minister’s National Youth Award for Excellence.

The ceremony will be held on the lawns of Jamaica House, on Saturday April 20, starting at 5:00 p.m.

The awards recognise young people for their achievements in various fields. 

Recipients are selected from over 100 applicants, then short listed to 50 persons.

Award categories include, Entrepreneurship, Agriculture and Journalism.

Ms. Broadie has been nominated in the category of Journalism.

Speaking during a Post Cabinet press briefing, yesterday, Youth Minister Fayval Williams acknowledged the nominees.

The Youth Award for Excellence was introduced in 1998 to recognize Jamaicans, aged 15 to 29 years, who have excelled and contributed to national development.

Meantime, for the first time there will be a Viewer’s Choice Award based on the video profiles posted of the nominees on the @youthjamaica Instagram page.
