Indian cricketers stranded in Barbados due to effects of Hurricane Beryl
Newly crowned ICC Men’s T20 World Champions India have been left stranded in Barbados and are unable to leave the region, after a hurricane warning closed essential ports including the Grantley Adams International Airport.
The team slated to leave Barbados on Monday (July 1) at 11 am local time, and fly to New York, where they would take a connecting flight to Dubai before landing in India. However, they were forced to camp inside their hotel as a result of the airport being closed due to the passage of the Hurricane Beryl which is affecting the Eastern Caribbean.
According to India Today reporter Nikhil Naz, who is with the team in Barbados, special arrangements have been made by the BCCI to get the delegation home.
India is scheduled to travel to Zimbabwe for a five-match T20 internationals series which bowls off on July 6 in Harare.
