The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has begun its probe into the fatal shooting of a man during an alleged confrontation with a police officer in Spanish Town, St Catherine, yesterday.
Dead is 25-year-old, Robert Duncan.
He was shot in the midst of the chaos that unfolded when gunmen said to be aligned with warring gang factions, reportedly traded bullets in the busy commercial district.
It was reported that an off-duty police officer reportedly fired at a man who was running toward him with a gun pointed in his direction.
Police said they recovered a firearm during the incident.
INDECOM Deputy Commissioner, Hamish Campbell said the concerned officer will be interviewed later this week.
