House fire survivor Adrianna Laing happy to be home

Adrianna Laing, the 13-year-old girl who was being treated in the USA after sustaining severe burns in a house fire, in Springfield, Westmoreland, last September, is back in the island.

Adrianna was one of four children at home on September 4, when a fire broke out.

Her brothers, 7-year-old twins Jorden and Jordane, as well as 8-year-old Adrianno Laing, perished in the blaze.

With the assistance of the Sanmerna Foundation and other stakeholders, Adrianna was flown to the USA for treatment and has since undergone almost two dozen surgeries.

She was recently discharged from the medical facility and arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport, in Kingston, this afternoon.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kamina Johnson Smith, was among the welcoming party, at the airport.

Meantime, Director of the Sanmerna Foundation Robert White urged persons to keep the teen in their prayers, as she undergoes another phase of her recovery.

And, young Adrianna has indicated that she is happy to be home.

While at the airport, she spoke with Irie FM’s announcer Amber, on the Stepping Razor show.
