Two firearms were seized during in a joint police/military operation in Lennox Big Woods in Westmoreland, this morning.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force says a high-powered rifle was among the weapons seized.

It is unclear if anyone was arrested in relation to the seizure.

In the meantime, the police are asking citizens who may have information on the whereabouts of criminals in the area or other illegal firearms to contact them.
