Head of St Andrew Central Police confirms 6 laptops stolen from fraud-hit SSL Wednesday

Head of the St Andrew Central Police, Senior Superintendent, Marlon Nesbeth has confirmed that six laptops were stolen from fraud-hit Stocks and Securities Limited’s (SSL) Hope Road offices on Wednesday night.

The theft prompted an investigation, which SSP Nesbeth says is making good progress.

In an update to IRIE FM news this morning, SSP Nesbeth noted that interviews are still being conducted, with a view of obtaining statements from relevant parties.

The theft follows a revelation that the scope of the fraud at SSL has grown to more than 30 million U-S dollars, with over 200 client accounts impacted.

News of a multi-million dollar fraud scheme at the entity surfaced early this year.

Several people, including Jamaican Olympian Usain Bolt are victims of the fraud.
