Gunmen flee leaving gun, after attacking off-duty Policeman
Gunmen who pounced upon a man in St. Ann this morning, fled leaving behind a gun, when the would-be victim turned out to be a policeman.
Reports are that at about 12:40am, an off duty policeman was sitting in a motor vehicle at the intersection of the Llandovery and Mines main road in St. Ann, when gunmen approached him and demanded that he exited the car.
The policeman complied, but pulled his firearm and opened fire at the gunmen who fled, leaving behind a Taurus 9 millimeter pistol.
The matter was reported to the St. Ann’s Bay police.
Investigations continue.
