An unidentified man was fatally shot, and a policeman was shot and wounded during an incident in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, on Sunday morning.

Head of the police’s Constabulary Communications Network, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsey, says the Corporal was pounced upon by 4 men at around 4:30 AM.

She says the Corporal discharged his firearm, fatally shooting one of the men. A black pistol was reportedly recovered at the scene.

The wounded Corporal is receiving medical treatment at hospital. He is in stable condition.
