Grief management protocols prompted at Pembroke Hall High to support students following murder of 14yo Terona Thomas
Counsellors attached to the Pembroke Hall High School in St. Andrew are providing some psychological support to the mother of 14-year-old Terona Thomas, who was killed last Thursday.
Police report that at about 1: 50 PM, Terona, otherwise called “Tee Tee” was among a group of people at Hill Avenue, St. Andrew when gunmen travelling in a motorcar opened fire, hitting her and two men.
Terona died at hospital, while the men were admitted.
Principal, Reverend Claude Ellis told IRIE FM News that the school community has been plunged into mourning.
He said the institution’s grief management protocols have been prompted to support students when they return to classes next Wednesday, after the Easter break.
In the meantime, Reverend Ellis said efforts are being made to support the late teen’s immediate family.
