Govt. pledges to quickly assist persons adversely affected by Hurricane Ian
Prime Minster Andrew Holness said government will move very quickly to respond to persons who were adversely affected by flood rains associated with hurricane Ian.
Heavy rains since Saturday, led to widespread flooding of several communities.
Mr. Holness was speaking today at a function for the handing over of eight water trucks to the National Water Commission.
He noted that there is a strong effort by the government to build resilience in the economy, so the country can move forward quickly after external shocks.
Meantime, the government is expected to give a report on the damage caused by hurricane Ian, by tomorrow.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness told the lower house today, that assessments are on-going.
He was responding to questions from the opposition.
