Four people detained following seizure of three guns and a quantity of ammunition in St. James, this morning
Four people were detained by the police in St James this morning (July 5) in relation to the seizure of two high-powered rifles, a sub-machine gun and a quantity of ammunition.
The seizure occurred during a joint police/military operation in the Canterbury community.
Acting Head of the St. James police, Superintendent Carlos Russell says between 5 and 9 AM, police and military personnel were on operation in Canterbury, when they discovered the Colt AR15 rifle with two magazines and 25 cartridges, an AK 47 rifle with a magazine with two cartridges and an Intra-Tec sub machine gun.
The weapons were found at the back of a yard covered under garbage.
The four persons were detained pending further investigations.
