Education Minister Fayval Williams says while she welcomes the reduction in fares for JUTC passengers, she continues to advocate for even lower costs, for students in rural areas.

Finance Minister, Dr. Nigel Clarke, announced on Tuesday, that students using JUTC buses will pay less come January 1 next year, and a further reduction come April 1.

Mrs. Williams, in welcoming the benefit for students in the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region, notes that more needs to be done for students in rural areas, as transportation is much harder for them.
