Curfews were imposed in sections of Denham Town and Tivoli Gardens, in the Kingston West Police Division, on Sunday evening.

The curfews took effect at 6 P.M.

Irie Fm news understands, that they come amidst an uptick in violence and shootings, in the communities.

In the case of Tivoli Gardens, the curfew will last 48 hours, remaining in effect until 6:00 P.M., tomorrow.

The boundaries of the Tivoli Gardens curfew include, Spanish Town Road, Industrial Terrace, Darling Street and Mckenzie Drive.

Meantime, the curfew imposed in Denham Town will last 72 hours, remaining in effect until 6:00 P.M., on Wednesday, July 19.

The boundaries of that curfew include Beeston Street, Chestnut Lane, Matthews Lane, Heywood Street and the intersection of Spanish Town Road and Chestnut Lane.
