CPFSA offering psychological support to Hopewell student seen in viral video being physically assaulted by schoolmates
The male Hopewell High School student who was seen in a video being physically assaulted by a group of his schoolmates will be getting psychological support from the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA).
In the three-minute and 21-second-long video which has gone viral, the male student was seen being smacked and kicked repeatedly by several other male pupils.
At least one of the aggressors was wearing a mask.
CPFSA Chief Executive Officer, Laurette Adams-Thomas said a team visited the school, spoke with the student and made arrangements to provide the necessary support.
Mrs. Adams-Thomas noted that the boy was allegedly beaten on two occasions earlier this week by the group of students who seem to be members of a gang.
She said the matter was reported to the police.
The 15-year-old boy also got medical attention today.
She said the CPFSA was informed that the main suspect was arrested, charged and taken to court today.
